This project involved an extensive renovation to the existing run down old terrace. The aim was to have large open plan living areas that allowed natural lighting and ventilation. The terrace consisted of a self-contained unit on the lower ground floor as well as an office and an attic with a dormer window overlooking beautiful city view.
The challenging part from a builder’s point of view involved the complete internal demolition of all the existing timber floors and walls on all three floors with only the roof structure being maintained. Main features of the new home involved the clever use of internal louvered windows and a light well, which allowed both cross flow ventilation and brought natural daylight into the heart of the dwelling. A 5 metre floor to ceiling living area, open staircases, stone floors and a beautifully finished kitchen all worked in cohesion to give a warm and airy stunning natural result.
